Step 1  Identify your scenarios

To start, it's important to identify the different scenarios you have encountered. The popular scenarios are commercial and industrial ones. The hospitality industry like hotels and resorts, schools, and healthcare industry including hospitals and medical centers, offices, plazas, shopping malls, supermarkets, grocery or department stores, airports, and public transportation are the most common commercial cases. Manufacturing like factories, and logistics and warehousing are the typical industrial scenarios.

It's no doubt the commercial plaza, hospital and factory will meet different floor cleaning challenges and requirements. Various scenarios usually meet different venues, floors and stain types.

Step 2  List the venues you should clean in the scenario

In the hospital, for example, you will meet reception table, emergency room, operating room, inpatient department, examing room, toilet, corridor and parking lot. Let's try to answer 5 questions to clear up your problems.

1. What kind of venues will you meet in the targeted scenario?

2. How big area of each venue?

3. What kind of flooring do you have?

4. What's the challenge of your floor care jobs? Or what problems do you want to solve and what's the target you want?

Step 3  Look at your floorings

Absolutely, all the floor care and maintenance jobs happening on the floorings. So try to make sure you're quite clear about your floors. 

Hard cement-based floors like polished concrete, dry-shake concrete floor, terrazzo floor

Stone floors are natural stones and artificial stones, including marble, granite, travertine, quartz, blue stone

Resilient floors, including PVC, VCT, Linoleum, Rubber, Epoxy resin floor...

For stone floors, you have to consider the PH value of the stone material and be careful of your choice between the alkalinity and acidity of the chemicals that you're using. For the floorings, we will introduce you more in the following blogs.

Anyway, you have to know that for different floors like PVC and concrete, we usually recommend to combine different machines and consumables to meet your cleaning challenges.

Step 4  Floor care challenges and applications

Of course, the stain types and the floor maintenance problems should also be carefully discussed. Sometimes, you'll meet black tire marks or scratches, sometimes it's drinks residues or paper scraps. All the stains are clarified to scattered stains, sticking stains and permeable stains. 

The scattered stains like paper scraps, dust, hair, food residues and leaves can be cleaned by the floor sweepers. 

The sticking stains usually contain scratches, footprints, drinks and water residues and chemical residues can be scrubbed by the floor scrubber, floor buffer and the floor orbital machine.

The permeable stains including tire marks, wax coatings, oil marks, glues and cement stains should be removed by the floor polisher or orbital machine with heavy-duty cleaner chemicals. 

Each process of cleaning these stains can be defined by different applications like renovation and polishing, floor stripping, deep cleaning, daily cleaning and maintenance. In each application sector, you may choose different machines and cleaning tools.

Step 5  Understanding how the machines work

Good, now we're clear about the scenarios, the floors, the cleaning challenges (stains) and the floor care jobs you should do. So how to choose the right machine to effectively complete your jobs?

Floor Scrubber Dryer Machine

The floor scrubbing machines have 3 models, the compact like T15 and T35 Series, the walk-behind ones like T45 series, T55 Series and T70 Series and the ride-on ones like T130 and T150. Floor Sweeper Machine

The floor sweepers like TS1300 and TS1900 are designed to clean scattered stains like dust and leaves. Good for both indoor and outdoor sweeping tasks.

Floor Polisher or Orbital Machine

Floor polisher, called single disc machine, swing machine and floor buffer, is mostly used for floor renovation and polishing, and floor stripping cases.

The floor orbital machine can be divided into the disc head and the square head, they're oscillating not twisting when operating. So the efficiency can reach up to 1,000 to 3,000 times per minute, very productive for floor heavy-duty stripping and deep cleaning.

Robotics cleaning machine

Driven by AI technology, intelligent machines can help you save manpower and enhance your cleaning efficiency. They can mop, scrub and sweep the floor.

Special commercial cleaning tools

For example, the cleaning trolleys can carry floor cleaners, mops, cleaning tools, rubbish bins etc... It's an all-in-one workstation for the cleaner.

Step 6  Match the appropriate consumables

Consumables, the best partner to floor cleaning machines, can enhance the productivity of the cleaning works if we find the a good one.

Brushes

Classified by the diameter of the brush hair, as usual, there are Nylon, PP and PPT materials.

For example, the PP 0.6mm is good for deep cleaning and hard floors but the PP 0.28mm can be used for hard floor daily cleaning but especially good for daily cleaning on resilient floors like PVC and VCT. Howerver, if you keep using the hard brushes on the PVC floor, it may cause scratch problems.

Squeegee, rubber strips

In TVX, our red rubber strips are made of 95% natural rubber, durable, abrasive-resistant and good for water suction. You can use them for 90% of daily cleaning cases and floors.

The blue one is made of polyurethane material with 38 shore hardness and is especially good for resilient floors and cleaning the floor with thick oil residues.

Floor pads

90% of floor cleaning pads like 3M and Americo are color-coded. The black and brown is mostly for deep stripping and cleaning but the red buffer pad is good for daily maintenance or scrubbing. 

However, the diamond pads, impregnating diamond particles on the floor pad, are more durable and effective for floor cleaning and polishing. It's classified by diamond grits. For example, coarse grits like 200# and 400# are good for stripping and deep cleaning case but 3000# is good for daily cleaning or final polishing. They can polish floors without any chemicals used. With water only, quite an eco-friendly way! 

Besides, you can see Melamine pads, they're good for daily cleaning to clean the sticking stains and keep the floor clean. The grout and tile pad is recommended for deep cleaning the gap between the slabs and the uneven floor surface.

Cleaner Chemicals

They're of acidity, alkalinity, neutral, volatile and solvent. But the basic rule is to remember to consult with the sales before using them, tell them more info about your floor and your troubles, and acquire your professional instructions.

Step 7  Bring out your solution

Now, based on all the information above, we can make them a total solution.
